Bridport Crown Post Barn

Crown post barns are rare in New England. This one has an incredible five sided ridge beam, which is supported by a post at each gable end of the barn, as well as a third post in the center of the building. The rafters are primarily half round pine with beautiful patina. This frame comes with the original roof boards. The barn can have a full second floor, or it can be left with a partial cathedral ceiling. We will want to add a low post in the center bent to further support the ridge beam. The number of braces in this frame is phenomenal! We especially like the long braces that go from the crown posts out into the ridge beam
