Cam Gilmour is an artist from Middletown Springs, VT, on tour in support of an audio-visual project called Of Air. Intended to convey the feeling of being transported to another world, Of Air is a photo book & an experimental jazz album made in parallel. The book offers dream-like images and screen prints of Middletown Springs, punctuated by philosophical journal entries on creation, living cameras, and allusions to other worlds, while the album is a cohesive & diverse offering of instrumental motifs, ambient textures, and improvisation.
About the Reuben Wait Barn: The venue for this event is a pre-1800's hand hewn timber frame barn. In 2020 the Reuben Waite Barn was moved from its original location in Galway, NY to the shop property of Green Mountain Timber Frames in Middletown Springs. The Green Mountain Timber Frames crew carefully dismantled the structure taking care to label each beam, brace, and board. After restoring and washing the frame, it was erected once again on a stone foundation to live on as a space dedicated to community, the arts, traditional crafting, and the learning of hand tool woodworking.
