Preserving Historic Properties of New England
At Green Mountain Timber Frames, we enjoy working on the occasional new timber frame project, but our focus is on restoring historic properties and old barns. Having lived in Vermont for over 40 years, we are proud that with the restoration of each frame, we play a small role in preserving the historic value of our community.

Dedicated to preserving our New England heritage, we restore timber frames built by the talented craftsmen and pioneers of the late 18th and 19th centuries. We have preserved over 50 barns – and with them many of the personal stories of their original owners from Vermont’s days as a Republic and early state. The restored wood timbers and the tales they witnessed are testimony to the historic legacy of these early Americans. Now passed on to the new inhabitants of the homes, the stories and structures themselves will live on for generations to come.
