Waterford Gunstock Barn

32 X 42 feet | circa 1840 | Waterford, Vermont

This remarkable structure is a classic example of an English style gunstock frame. It has the classic layout, with large center doors on each eve, a wide bay on one side for hay storage, and a narrow bay on the other where the animals were housed. There was originally a loft in the center of the barn where oats and other grains could be placed to dry. The structure is all hewn- including the braces!
