Trapper Cabin

This structure, originally built as a corn crib and later utilized as a trapper cabin, has beautiful timbers and a wonderful interior feel. The beams are sawn by an early water saw. The roof boards, siding, and flooring have great color and width. The Trapper Cabin is a three bent structure, and originally had a full loft. It could be put back up this way, or modified to have a half loft for sleeping or reading, and half cathedral. The horizontal ties in the gable walls can easily be moved to accommodate windows.

• Sawn softwood posts and beams, with the exception of one hewn corner post

• Three bent structure

• Full length 22 foot timbers

• Sawn rafters and floor joists

• Comes with flooring for 1/2 loft, vintage roof boards, and beautiful wall boards

Possibilities:

The Trappers Cabin would be ideally suited for use as a woods retreat cabin. It could be minimally insulated, or left as a seasonal cabin. A tiny wood stove would heat the space nicely. It could also make a wonderful garden barn to house supplies or for potting plants.
